Product description GlasGarten - ShrimpFit Supplementary feed for ornamental shrimps - ShrimpFit from GlasGarten is a special feed and immune booster for rapid activation of the immune system. ShrimpFit improves the immune system and provides your shrimps with nutritionally important active ingredients such as beta-glucans, mannan oligosaccharides, minerals and chitin. Shrimps only have a primitive immune system. This innate immunity lacks the adaptability to develop an immunological memory, making the organism susceptible to re-infection with the same pathogens. So once an infection with a particular enemy has been overcome, it can attack again, the shrimp's immune system does not recognise it and the fight starts all over again. However, the most common cases of bacterial infections in shrimps in aquaria are caused by non-pathogenic bacteria, i.e. they are not pathogenic bacteria, but normal bacteria that live in every aquarium and every living organism. Unfortunately, these can also quickly lead to a problem, namely if the immune system is weakened and/or does not become active quickly. A sleepy "sentry" or a sluggish "fighting force" can be decisive in a battle. If, for example, new shrimps/snails/fish are placed in an aquarium that already contains shrimps, then often no ‘diseases’ are transferred, but simply normal bacterial strains that may be unknown to the shrimps already living in the aquarium. This means that the new bacteria can quickly colonise the shrimp, multiply rapidly and, if the immune system is not fit and fast enough, unfortunately often lead to death... In short, without an immune system, a shrimp is just a piece of meat that wants to be decomposed by bacteria. The immune system alone prevents this, which is why it is so important to strengthen the shrimp's immune system so that it can defend itself optimally and keep the shrimp healthy. That alone is its job, to be faster and stronger than enemies can spread. ShrimpFit supports it in this task, the ingredients act as an immune booster in various ways. Advantages of GlasGarten ShrimpFit - High binding power and inactivation of toxins (poisons) - Activation and multiplication of defence phagocytes - Formation of a protective film on the intestinal mucosa Betaglucan Beta-1,3-1,6-glucans are structures that are recognised by the immune system as quasi-pathogens. Without being a pathogen, they trigger immune activation, but do not cause any symptoms of disease. The immune system is therefore made fit. Beta-glucans are recognised by phagocytes (macrophages) via special receptors and immediately absorbed. As a result, the macrophages activate the formation of further immune defence cells, which then effectively protect the body from new pathogens in the blood and lymphatic system and can reduce the response time for a defence.
