The small sticks/bites contain both inorganically and organically bound minerals to prevent deficiency symptoms, which are often noticeable in shrimps and other crustaceans due to moulting problems, weak growth and high mortality rates in young animals. With snails, Mineral Junkie Bites can prevent pitting in the shell, they grow better with a sufficient supply of minerals and build an even, strong shell. An adequate supply of minerals is a very important factor in the keeping and breeding of shrimps, crabs, crayfish and snails; they are literally "addicted" to these substances.
