• FEEDING: Depending on the animal population, 1 to max. 3 edible caves can be placed in the aquarium for 60 litres of water. Only add new caves when the old ones are almost eaten up. The caves retain their shape even after a long time in the water.

Product description GlasGarten - Crispy Caves The new Crispy Caves from our own brand GlasGarten are edible tubes / caves and therefore food and hiding place in one... The Crispy Caves contain important natural fibres and at the same time strengthen the development of a biofilm on the surface. Fibre is an important part of the diet of animals that like to graze/rasp surfaces, such as shrimps, snails and suckermouth catfish, and is needed for digestion. Crispy Caves consist to a large extent of wood fibres (cellulose), clay and leaves, which are usually also found in the animals' natural habitats and are ingested in large quantities. These fibres are used to eat nutrients such as algae and bacteria, which settle on surfaces as a biofilm and form the basis of their diet. Crispy Caves are therefore the perfect supplement to regular feeding with main food, remain dimensionally stable in the water and the nutrients must be actively rasped off with the dietary fibre, which corresponds to the natural feeding behaviour of the animals. Smaller animals can enter the cave and eat from the inside of the cave wall in peace.
