- GARLIC CHIVES SEEDS: A decorative herb with attractive white flowers and a mild garlic flavour which is ideal in salads, stir-fries or finely chopped in cream cheese.
- SOW: January to December, HARVEST: January to December, HEIGHT: 30cm, PREFERS: Partial Shade, SEEDS: 250 Approx.
- FOR INDOOR SOWING: WHEN - March to May, or all year round for pots indoors. WHERE - In pots of moist compost. HOW - Sow thinly, cover lightly with compost. Cover with clear glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at 15-20C. And keep moist. Seedlings appear 14-28 days.
- CARE - Remove cover when seedlings appear. Thin plants if necessary. To grow outdoors, gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts), plant out 20cm apart. To grow indoors, transplant to 15cm pots of compost, place in a light airy location. HARVEST – Outdoor crops from June, indoor crops all year round.
- FOR OUTDOOR SOWING: WHEN - March to May. WHERE - In the growing position. HOW - Sow thinly, cover lightly with fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. CARE - Thin seedlings to 15cm apart. HARVEST – Cut the leaves as required.
