Product Description Ever since the beginning of the band, we ve tried to push back the boundaries of traditional music, and with every new album we look for a fresh approach to our signature Bagrock sound. At the end of 2018, after sixteen years of literally rocking all over the world, we decided to start afresh - with some new faces, new tunes, and eventually a new album. And here it is at last! Our latest album, Fresh Air , is the first to feature the new line-up of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. We ve had a great time putting it together, and we hope you all enjoy it. We ll see you on the road! - The Red Hot Chilli Pipers About the Artist About the tunes. Bleaching Cloths - James Harper wrote this tune, and it s a blast to play. It s named after his granny s term for doing the laundry. Dalavich - This track was written by Leon Thorne, our sax player, after a particularly memorable trip to Dalavich, Loch Awe. Hallelujah - When Leonard Cohen first recorded this magnificent ballad in 1984, he inexplicably forgot to add bagpipes, so we thought we should give it a go! Featuring the incredible vocal talents of Chris Judge and the Soul Nation Choir. Shut Up And Dance - A dancefloor classic and a big hit at our live gigs, Jay came up with the cool breakdown section, leading into the red-hot reel at the end. Everybody dance! Highland Cathedral Often mistaken for the Scottish National Anthem, we recorded this famous tune with two hundred talented young bagpipers at Tynecastle stadium in Edinburgh. Smelling Fresh - This is the very first tune we worked on for the new album - we started it on a Wednesday and it was in the live set by the Friday night! Treasure - The funkiest track on the album, and the quickest to come together, this is what s known as a Bag-Stomp . Featuring The Horn Supremacy and the Soul Nation Choir in all their glory. The Gladiator No Red Hot Chilli Pipers album could be complete without a Gordon Duncan tune, and this swaggering hornpipe must rank among his finest compositions. This Is Me - The Red Hot Chilli Pipers on Broadway? We love an inspirational song, and we hope it inspires you too. Auf Uns We love playing in Germany, and since we ve spent so much time there, we recorded this huge German-language hit as a tribute to all of our fans in Deutschland. Featuring Olivia Singleton on vocals. Old Yellow Bricks - Cammy brought this tune to the band - check out James s jazz-folk whistle solo, followed by Grant and Jay tearing it up on percussion, then finally the blistering bagpiping at the end. Under The Influence - This tune is definitely under the influence of dance music, with a little puirt à beul - for all you trad fans out there! All These Things That I ve Done - Wherever we go in the world, audiences love to sing along to this mighty rock tune by the Killers. Leave a Light On We met the singer-songwriter Tom Walker when he invited us to busk with him on the steps of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Tom s a great guy, and we were delighted when he asked us to record his top ten single Leave A Light On .
