Product Description Musona Tondo Bianca: A white Spanish-style cooking onion. Good-sized bulb. Sow from February to March and from July to August. Onions can be sown very easily from seed and the benefit of doing this is the value for money, as in one pack you can get about 1,400 seeds - a huge saving compared to the cost of onion sets, although these will produce more quickly of course. Generally you sow in spring for the same year and in autumn for an early crop the next. The simplest way to grow onions from seed is just to sprinkle some seeds into a container or seed tray, 1 cm down, and a chive-like shoot will grow. Scoop these out with your little finger and transplant into the ground 5 cm apart. They don't mind the cold and will grow on and swell with watering (onions have a high water content).
