Product Description Berlicum: A mid/late variety, mid length with good flavour and reliability. Sow carrots 1 cm deep from March to July, but be sure to dig your soil well so that it is quite fine and friable. You should sow carrots directly into the soil where they are to grow because transplanting them from a seed tray into the ground can attract the dreaded carrot root fly, which will lay its eggs in the base of your carrots. This sometimes happens anyway when thinning out (to 5 cm between each plant). You can use some fleece to cover them, or protect them with a portable cloche, for example.
