• ENHANCED STRIKING EDGE: Our new straight-edged striking area now throws down a lot more sparks. With a lot of Ferro Rod necklaces, it's often hard to create enough sparks due to the Ferro Rod being so small. We have slightly raised and sharpened the striking edge to ensure maximum material is removed when striking.
• STREAMLINED TINDER SCRAPER: Our new beveled scraping edge ensures a much smoother, and more efficient scraping process and will make light work of processing your tinder shavings.
• A LARGER FERRO ROD: We have increased the length and width of the Ferro Rod which makes it a lot easier to generate more sparks. The rod also allows for up to 20,000 strikes, as a backup Ferro rod, you definitely don't need to worry about it failing you when you need it most!
• MADE USING FOREST FUNDAMENTALS FERROCERIUM BLEND: the optimum balance between softness and durability. Our Ferro Rods throw down large showers of molten sparks, but we were also careful not to make the rods too soft to ensure longevity.
• OTHER FEATURES: As an EDC tool, it was a top priority we squeezed a bottle opener in! The necklace can also be used for wood splitting and as a prying tool. We make them using heat-treated steel to ensure they won't bend under excess pressure.
• NECKLACE CHAIN & SAFETY CLASP: For the necklace chain we have used 550 'survival' cord which includes strands of copper wire, fishing line, waxed jute, and parachute cord. For safety, we have used a magnetic breakaway clasp. The magnet is very strong and won't detach without pulling.
