Growing up in San Francisco Bay Area, we have caught crabs in many areas along the west coast, from the jetty, piers and surf. We have used both hoop nets and castable crab traps. Hoop nets are only best when you have a boat, but on land, it would be casting crab traps hands down, as your can hunt from anywhere while people tend to crowd up at the piers. We have tested several different products and experimented with a variety of materials to create something that has everything we want in our product.
