Product Description Fisherman's Friend lozenges were first created in Fleetwood, Lancashire, in 1865, when the town was the centre of the UK fishing industry. James Lofthouse, a young pharmacist, developed a strong liquid using menthol and eucalyptus, which the fishermen took to help relieve the ailments on their long voyages in freezing conditions. Later this liquid was developed into the well-known lozenges that today are loved around the world in over 80 different countries. Fisherman's Friend is still produced in its home town of Fleetwood. 110 years after the first Original Lozenge, the Aniseed Menthol Flavour Lozenge was born - a spicy, sugar-free addition to the range.
