We have run these in a marine tank with coral gravel, a planted tank pea gravel and a cold water keeping the ceramic media
• Simply sleeve the foam over the outside of the filter housing prior to adding ceramic media or a gravel of your choice. To clean we suggest using your gravel gleaner and push it into the foam to extract any trapped particles.

We recommend a gravel no smaller than 3mm in size so not suitable for sands or soils. We have run these in a marine tank with coral gravel, a planted tank pea gravel and a cold water keeping the ceramic media. You will receive 1 x Bio Ring foam ring (no substrate or aquarium supplied that is shown in the picture. These are for illustration only) How to use our product: If setting up from scratch: Simply sleeve the foam over the outside of the filter housing prior to adding ceramic media or a gravel of your choice. To clean we suggest using your gravel gleaner and push it into the foam to extract any trapped particles. These should be replaced every 12 months. Adding to a running aquarium: Simply gravel clean as normal to remove debris from the base of your aquarium. Remove the ceramic media to enable you to sleeve the upgrade foam over the outside of the filter housing prior to adding the original ceramic media back or your choice of new gravel. To clean we suggest using your gravel gleaner and push it into the foam to extract any trapped particles. You may want to remove the fish prior to adding the washed clean gravel.
