The filter mat is phenolic-free special foam, which has been structured so that an optimum filter performance is achieved. Lapped by water, it mechanically holds coarse and fine particles. After a running-in period , bacteria also settle in the tissue, which cause biodegradation and thus contribute to water quality. It is therefore not only prefect to use with external filters for aquariums or pond filters, but also for the construction of a Hamburg mat filter or a filter tank. The foam mat is washable and thus reusable.
