Product Description FetHead Filter is a high quality, phantom powered in-line preamp. It has the addition of a built-in high pass filter at 220 Hz cutoff, this reduces the excessive low frequency/proximity effects that some microphones exhibit, such as long motor ribbon mics. The filter elements are not directly in the signal path but are applied to the components which set the gain of the FetHead Filter's amplifier. This ensures frequency dependence and that the sonic characteristics of the FetHead Filter are preserved. Manufacturer's Description Your Fethead Filter will latch straight onto any XLR equipped microphone, or anywhere else in the signal path between microphone and preamp/mixer. Fethead Filter uses phantom power to power its circuitry, but doesn’t pass phantom power to the microphone, so rest assured your ribbon mics are safe.
