This statue - made of finely hand-painted plaster embellished with a mother-of-pearl finish - depicts Our Lady of Lourdes standing barefoot with hands joined on a grey pedestal that recalls a rocky surface. Portrayed as appeared in 1858 in the famous French town of Lourdes to Bernadette Soubirous, Our Lady of the Rosary wears a white robe covered by a long headdress of the same colour, edged in gold-colour. The detailed rendering of the folds of the garments and their delicate shades enhance the accuracy and the depth of the figure.
