Product Description This King Balthazar figurine – made of hand-painted resin and designed by the Italian contemporary sacred art sculptor Martino Landi – is a must-have piece for your traditional Xmas créche. The Wise Man Balthazar stands upright with one of his hands raised, pointing to the sky with his index finger. The King of Arabia is depicted with a white and gold headdress, and a dark orange/brown tunic, partially covered by a blue cloak. According to tradition, Magus Balthazar does homage to Jesus by bringing him the mysterious myrrh, a resin that, when mixed to oils, allows to obtain ointments with medicinal effect. The particular use of solid colours, together with an antiquing effect which highlights the folds of the drapes of this King Balthazar figurine, give depth to the subject and make it even more realistic. This statuette is part of the 10-cm high Martino Landi Nativity scene series. The weight of the figurine is 81 g (110 g with packaging included).
