The statue - made of finely hand-painted plaster - depicts St. Michael, Prince of Heavenly Host, Archangel and Saint. The same Archangel title has been attributed to St. Gabriel and St. Raphael. Michael led God's armies against Satan's forces in the Book of Revelation, and defeated Satan. He is here depicted with his spear while fiercely trampling on an evil figure. This approx. 20 cm tall statue of Archangel Michael is completely crafted in Italy and stands out for the quality of its workmanship and the skilful use of colours. The chromatic tones, as well as the rendering of the lines and the garment folds of this piece, enrich the figure with further texture and visual impact. The Archangel Michael statue is suitable for small niches, but it can also be displayed at home as an ornament or in a display case.
