- FENUGREEK SPROUTING SEEDS: Mildly spicy flavoured shoots, which make a superb nutritious addition to salads and stir-fries. Very easy to grow and ready to use in days.
- SOW: January to December, HARVEST: January to December, SEEDS: 30g Approx.
- FOR INDOOR SOWING: WHEN – All year round. WHERE - Use a jar which can be covered with muslin or a clean cloth or a 'sprouter' for sprouts. Or, use a dish, seed tray or punnet for sprouts or seedlings.
- HOW - Wash the amount of seed to be sprouted in cold water and soak for 8 hours. Place seeds in jar and cover with a cloth. Once or twice each day rinse the seeds with tepid water and drain. Or, place several layers of damp kitchen towel or a thin layer of compost in the bottom of a tray or dish, sprinkle with seed and cover with more damp paper or compost. Ensure the paper or compost remains moist at all times.
- CARE - Place in the dark, at approx. 15C, a cupboard is ideal. Once seedlings develop move into the light allowing the small leaves to colour for 'green' sprouts or leave in the dark for 'white' sprouts.
- HARVEST – Sprouts after approx. 3-5 days when approx. 2.5cm long. Seedlings take a further 3-5 days and should be cut from approx. 5cm tall.
