• This audio extractor offers 2 operating modes. When connected to a modern television with HDMI eARC, all audio signals (from the TV and connected players) are transmitted to your audio system via HDMI. An older AV receiver is also suitable for this - the only important thing is that it has a true HDMI input.
• The sound from Smart TV applications and HDMI sources connected to the TV, such as Apple TV, Fire TV, Xbox and Playstation, is thus transmitted with the highest audio quality: all HDMI 2.1 features of game consoles are still possible
• In HDMI splitter mode, the signal from an HDMI source is distributed between the TV projector and the video projector and the AV receiver. The audio system receives the audio signal with a black screen via HDMI (HDMI 1.3 or higher is sufficient), the television receives the signal unchanged up to 4K 60 Hz HDR/Dolby Vision.
• Notes: USB power supply, USB plug, or power supply required (5V 350mA, not included). It is not possible to use the HDMI ARC port on a soundbar. The audio system should have a normal HDMI input. So not suitable for Sonos.

The VAX01202 is a solution for connecting the latest TVs equipped with an HDMI EARC connection to previous audio systems. Modern players such as the XBox Series X or the PlayStation PS5 can be connected directly to the TV, even via HDMI 2.1. Therefore, there are no restrictions on video formats or games. At the same time, high-quality audio formats can be played as normal HDMI signals through the AV receiver. The VAX01202 converts eARC audio signals into a conventional HDMI signal. The AV receiver or audio system therefore does not need to support a new video format. A black screen and sound are provided. All eARC audio formats are possible, e.g. Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, PCM5.1, Dolby MAT, Dolby Atmos. A standard HDMI input on the audio system is sufficient for this. An HDMI-ARC connection on a sound bar is not suitable for connection. The VAX01202 can be used as an HDMI splitter after manual switching. The signal from an HDMI player is thus distributed between the television/projector and the audio system. An HDMI signal up to a maximum of 4K 60Hz Dolby Vision passes through the TV output. The audio system receives a black screen and the audio signal. This means that older AV receivers can also be used with HDMI 1.3/1.4. Power is supplied via USB device socket, power supply is not included (max. 350mA, power consumption <1.75W). Notes: If used as eARC audio extractor, please refrain from direct connection between AV receiver and TV or disable HDMI-CEC on AV receiver. Otherwise, a loop with a malfunction is created. Note: Please do not cover the case or power supply and do not install the device to avoid overheating. Keep away from sources of heat, fire, water and humidity. Do not place heavy objects on the device or on the connection cables. Do not open or drill holes in the case. Use only appropriate USB ports for power supply. Only clean the surface of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Please do not use strong detergent, gasoline or the like.
