Product description Farriers 1Ltr Feather Mite Shampoo is a proven and popular product in our range of Mite Treatments. Feather mites are microscopic parasites that live and thrive in the feathers of heavy horses such as Shires, Friesians, Dales and Cobs. The warm, moist conditions, created by heavy feathers, make this the ideal breeding ground for these parasites. Feather Mites live against the skin and can cause great discomfort and stress to your horse. They will display behaviours such as stamping, biting and rubbing their lower leg. Feather mites can be extremely difficult to treat withour proper management. Regular use of this product will ensure that your horse remains parasite free. The shampoo is easy to use, has excellent cleaning properties and nourishes at the same time. The active ingredient, Biosect, eradicates the mites and peppermint essential oil deters the mites whilst creating a pleasant aroma. A combination of the shampoo and our Biosect Spray will achieve optimal results! We recommend wetting the feather first then work the shampoo in to the skin from the knee/hock down to the bulbs of the heel. Leave for 5 minutes and rinse, repeating every 10 days to break the cycle of the mite for at least a month then use routinely afterwards to maintain an itch-free happier horse.
