Product description
The highly anticipated new album from Gregory Alan Isakov, Evening Machines , will be released on October 5th. Recorded in a studio-converted barn on Isakov's three-acre farm in Boulder County, CO, the 13 tracks were self-produced and mixed by Tucker Martine (Neko Case, The Decemberists) and Andrew Berlin (Descendents, Rise Against). The record - his fourth studio album and the first in five years (and debut for Dualtone Records) - comments Isakov as follows: I almost always worked deep into the night. Many times I found myself in the light of all these VU meters and saw the tape machine glow, so came the title. I mostly recorded at night when I haven't worked in the gardens. It doesn't matter whether summer or winter, morning or afternoon, this music always feels like evening to me. In celebration of the album, Isakov will embark on a comprehensive worldwide tour this fall, including a sold-out headline show at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The tour also leads him to Germany, with shows in Hamburg, Berlin and Cologne. This time, Isakov comes with band cast as in his completely sold out tour in spring 2017. He previously played a sold out Germany tour as a duo in 2014 and performed solo in the pre-program of the Passenger Tour 2016. The new album follows on from Isakov's acclaimed collaboration with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, with which he recorded the 2016 album Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony, which includes orchestral versions of twelve Isakov songs. Prior to the symphonic album, Isakov released The Weatherman in 2013, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts and received much praise from NPR Music, Esquire, Rolling Stone, The Boston Globe and many more. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and long living in Colorado, Gregory Alan Isakov describes himself as a musical traveler. His masterful songs tell of landscapes and encounters, of the search for meaning in the world. Since his debut in 2003, Isakov released three studio albums on his independent label Suitcase Town Music (with over 370,000 copies sold) and toured intensively, including with the already mentioned Passenger also with artists such as Iron & Wine, Ani DiFranco, Blind Pilot, Josh Ritter, Brandi Carlile. or Nathaniel Rateliff
