• Euonymus japonicus 'Kathy', commonly known as the Japanese Spindle Bush, are beautiful ornamental trees that have attractive bushy dark green foliage with creamy white margins. Trained into a ‘lollipop’ single stem, these evergreen trees are perfect to sit solitary in small gardens, patios, borders or mixed containers.
• 'Kathy' lollipop trees can reach an optimum height of around 200cm and spread of around 150cm over a 10-20 year period. Be sure to plant in moderately fertile, well-drained soil and position in full sun or partial shade to give it the best opportunity to thrive.
• Due to the trees hardy structure, they are a fairly low maintenance plant to monitor. It’s recommended to prune a year - once in May and again in late September. This will encourage fresh, variegated growth and will maintain shape form for the following season. The tree requires frequent watering until it has been established in its new environment, then just average watering after it's settled in. Be sure not to over-hydrate and make sure the tree doesn't dry out.
• Euonymus Trees are valued all year round for their bushy display of leaves and foliage. During the summertime they blossom small beautiful pale green flowers that are occasionally followed up by fruit in the Autumn season. Euonymus Trees are very tolerant to harsh Winter - however, ensure they are planted in sheltered areas for protection. Due to being evergreen, the tree will keep its general shape and leaves all year round.
