The ERA Egress Easy Clean friction stays are designed to provide initial egress for escape access with an easy clean feature. The window can be fully opened, and the sash is easily pulled away after pressing a tab. The hinge resets automatically when the window is closed without needing any additional button activation. Manufactured from high-quality 430 stainless steel, ERA hinges deliver reliable performance. The pointed sash arm and nylon end cap ensure excellent gasket compression and smooth engagement. The hinge features friction adjustment to securely keep the window open. To enhance security, ERA friction stays can be fitted with hingeguard protection plates or dog bolts, and PAS 24 security performance can be achieved with an ERA hingeguard. The hingeguard engages only when the window is under attack, supporting the friction hinge to prevent disengagement. The friction stays are available in side-hung configurations, with two stack heights (13mm and 16.5mm) and lengths of 336mm (12") and 424mm (16"), offering a maximum 84-degree opening. They are suitable for use with casement windows made of PVCu, aluminium, and timber. The hinges meet the corrosion standards of BS EN 1670 Grade 4 (240 hours) and have been tested for over 20,000 cycles. They also comply with BS 6375-1:2004, BS EN 8213-1:2004, and Building Regulation Approved Document B: 2019 edition.
