These top-quality reproduction Thunderer whistles are made by J. Hudson & Co in Birmingham, UK. They are made in the original factory, using the same equipment and dies as the originals! Also known as the Ditch whistle, they were issued to RAF and USAAF pilots during WW1 and WW2. If a pilot had been shot down, they would attract attention using the whistle. They have been made to reflect day-to-day wear, and are stamped with The Acme Thunderer and Made In England on the front. There is a keyring attachment point on the end of the whistle for attachment to jackets, as they would have been worn on flight jackets. The whistles measure approximately 4.5cm long and 1.5cm across. They are sent with a stapled cardboard display box. Features: - Made by J.
