About this item
- Traditional Italian Escarole Endive: A heritage Italian scarola variety producing large, open heads with bright green outer leaves and a beautifully pale yellow, tightly packed heart. A classic salad and cooking leaf across Mediterranean cuisine.
- Extra Crunchy with Mild Pleasant Bitterness: Delivers crisp, thick leaves with a balanced, gently bitter flavour—perfect for fresh salads, grilling, soups and traditional escarole dishes.
- Long Harvest Window from Summer to Winter: Sow endive seeds outdoors from June to October in finely prepared, well-drained soil. Sow thinly 1cm deep and keep soil consistently moist during germination. Thin seedlings to 25–30cm spacing for full head development. Harvest from July to January by cutting whole heads when firm and well formed. For sweeter hearts, lightly blanch by tying the outer leaves a week before harvest. SEEDS: 4g Approx.
- Perfect for Beds, Raised Beds & Large Containers: Easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Great for kitchen gardens, allotments and patio planters.
- Seed Quality: Produced by a historic Italian seed house with over 240 years of excellence. Seeds are packed in protective, recyclable packets to preserve freshness and germination quality – bringing authentic Italian growing to your garden.
