Der "Knig des Mambo"war zwischen 1955 und 1962 mit fnf Titeln in den amerikanischen Pop-Charts vertreten, als Bandleader und Organist feierte er weltweit Erfolge. Die unvergessene Nummer "Roberta" war sein zweiter internationaler Erfolg. Perez Prado starb 1989 in Mexiko.
