Malus domestica Apple Gala– A well loved variety in the UK. A reliable cultivar producing attractive yellow skinned fruit flushed with red. A sweet flavour when eaten straight from the tree, also makes a delicious juicing apple. Malus domestica Apple Golden Delicious– Easy to grow, produces good yields of greenish-yellow apples that mature to golden-yellow that store well over a long period after harvesting Pear 'Mini Conference' – Mini Dwarf Fruit Tree Pear ‘Conference’ are hardy, self fertile potted miniature fruit trees, the perfect plants for small gardens and patios. Easy to grow your own edible fruit at home, producing heavy crops of sweet, tasty summer fruit. Repot into 30cm pots in a well drained soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3 at the same soil level as they were in their nursery pots. Keep sheltered until fully established. Repot into increasingly larger pots up to 60cm diameter as they increase in size. After growing on these can be planted in well drained, sunny borders that have been enriched with well rotted manure or garden compost. Feed and water regularly throughout the summer. Remove some of the fruit in its first year of fruiting to allow the tree to focus some of its energy towards growing strong stems as well as fruit. In spring apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of trees grown in borders to help to retain moisture throughout the summer. Light pruning in spring is required only to keep their shape.
