Thanks to this rim, you can stack blaze or hot coals on the lid. Before storing the Dutch Oven, grease it, place a sheet of kitchen paper inside, and do not close the lid completely. Seasoning: When seasoning the Dutch Oven, start by cleaning the pot and the lid with hot water, then rub a thin coat of flavourless vegetable oil on the pot. Now place the pot upside down in the oven at 180 °C for one hour. Then rub the remaining oil evenly into the pot. Repeat this step regularly so that a patina forms to protect the pan from rusting. Cleaning: Only use hot water to clean the pot. Use a brush to scrub off food residues. Do not use soap or cleaning agents! Grease the pot after each cleaning. Do not keep food residues or ashes in the Dutch Oven, as these can cause corrosion when they get in contact with moisture.
