Description The DRYFOB Waterproof Car Key / PLB Container is the original scuba diving capable car key container, and the only one you'll ever need. Invented by two master scuba divers in Miami, it was released in 2021 and is now trusted by thousands of divers worldwide. The DRYFOB's proven and patented design keeps your electronic car key dry, even at depth. All DRYFOB models have now been certified and IPx8 water immersion rated to 1,200ft (365m) by an accredited US lab This is by no means a depth limitation, just the parameter we specified for our testing Note, some packaging may not reflect the new rating, but the design is the same Perfect for Scuba Diving and any other watersports or extreme sports where you want to protect your FOB or PLB from the elements. The interior of the DRYFOB is 1.65" (42mm) by 3.75" (95mm) and designed to fit all standard car key FOBs. The DRYFOB-L is slightly larger with an interior cavity size of 1.81” (46mm) by 3.93” (100mm) and made for larger FOBs. Both are neutrally buoyant with a FOB with a positive buoyancy of 2.3oz (65g) when empty and 3.2oz (92g) for the DRYFOB-L. Please ensure your car key fits before ordering. The DRYFOB-XL Container is a waterproof dive housing for popular PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) models and marine radios as well as communicators and rugged flip phones that can be used in a marine emergency. The interior of the DRYFOB-XL is 2.75" (70mm) by 4.80" (122mm). Please check that your device fits before ordering or check with us. Note that the DRYFOB-XL canister has a large interior cavity. The buoyancy when empty is 11.9 oz (338g) and it weighs 7.8 oz (221g). The patented design of the DRYFOB Containers is machined out of a solid piece of rugged aluminum alloy and anodized for additional strength and corrosion protection. Dual O-rings and ample threads are used to provide a waterproof seal. There are two 4mm x 8mm oval attachment points on the lid which can accommodate a (not included) lanyard, bungee, ring, or clip. The DRYFOB-XL also has a small 3mm drill through hole on the bottom lip. Small enough that most divers carry their DRYFOBs in a BCD pocket that can be clipped to a D-ring or other secure spot. Each DRYFOB-XL comes with a small supply of silicone lube and a set of spare O-rings.
