In 2017 mother and artist Kirsty Sweeting moved across country with Fiance, son, daughter and many pets, from the hectic environment of her home county, Essex , to a calm and tranquil village life in Dumfries and Galloway. After battling a lifetime of anxiety, in the beautiful surroundings of south west Scotland she rediscovered her passion for photography and found it helped tremendously to keep her mind busy and not wondering off into the abyss. This book is a short, but humorous account of the trials and tribulations of learning how to use a DLSR camera properly. Kirsty soon learns the tricks needed capture a shot of the magically, quick as lightening Red squirrel in the perfect position. This candid book reflects the art of photography, as well as the beauty of south west Scotland, its full of photos taken by Kirsty around Dumfries and Galloway. Many involved laying in mud, getting frozen toes or balancing in precarious positions while holding her breath, so as not to be heard by said squirrels/cows/mushrooms? ...anyone with a passion for wildlife photography knows the perfect shot never comes easy, but needs must. All photos have the location so if you are thinking of visiting Dumfries and Galloway this little book may give you some travel ideas of places to visit.
