These conditions can have a shortage of the natural oils that form a protective barrier to keep moisture in and irritants out. The end result is dry, chapped, itchy, flaky skin which is more prone to irritation. Doublebase Dry Skin’s innovative gel formulation breaks down when it comes in to contact with natural salts in the skin; meaning it’s easily absorbed into the stratum corneum (top layer of skin) and provides a lasting, protective barrier of oils, even after gentle washing. Many eczema creams, psoriasis creams and dermatitis creams have a high emollient oil content. Doublebase Dry Skin combines this high emollient oil content with the easy absorption of a gel. It also contains glycerol which is a humectant.
