A266 metric Centre drill is recommended for starting a precise hole in the end of a shaft so the shaft can be securely held prior to machining. The A266 comes with a 118 degree drill point and a 60 degree countersink. When drilling, this creates a 60 degree cone used to hold that end of the shaft securely. It has a titanium aluminium nitride coating which increases the life of the drill and gives better performance when drilling harder materials. The A266 is manufactured from High Speed cobalt and can machine a number of materials including steels, stainless steel and aluminium. With two drilling ends and suitability for use in both CNC and conventional machining, the A266 is a very economical and versatile choice.
