Dormer’s A243 is a long series aircraft extension drill bit, manufactured to NAS907 standard. It comes with a 135 degree split point which both helps with self centring, stopping the point of the drill from sliding over the surface of the material, and also means less force is needed to drill into the work piece. It has a bright finish to help prevent chips of work piece material from sticking to the cutting edge. The A243 is made with a long overall length but a short flute length which makes it good for stable drilling in areas which might be hard to reach with a conventional drill. It is made from premium High Speed steel and is suitable for drilling steels, aluminium, stainless steel and can be used by hand to drill many other materials, making it a very versatile product.
