A242 metric Centre drill is designed to start a precise hole in the end of a shaft so the shaft can be securely held prior to machining. It has a longer body length than standard centre drills, giving you extra reach when required. The A242 is manufactured from High Speed cobalt and can be used to machine many materials including steels, stainless steel and aluminium. It has a bright finish to help stop work piece material from sticking to the cutting edge and comes with a 118 degree point angle and a 60 degree countersink to machine a cone in the work piece to be used to hold that end of the work piece shaft securely. The A242 is double ended, making it a very cost effective tool.
