UV-C Light is extremely effective against virtually any microbes including rhinoviruses (colds), influenza, bacteria, mould, Streptococcus (Strep) and Staphylococcus(Staph) Do I need to wash my mouthguard/product first? Washing your retainers with water or cleaning them is still advised, but unlikely to kill all the bacteria. The DentaDenta UV can be used absolutely or in conjunction with other cleaning processes. Your mouth piece needs to be completely dry before it is placed in the unit. If you wash your mouthpiece under a tap please ensure that it is dried with a soft cloth before UV sterilising.
