Death In Paradise is a prime time BBC1 light hearted drama set on the fictional French Caribbean island of Sainte-Marie, off the coast of Guadeloupe. Now in its 4th series, the Death In Paradise story centres around an English Detective Inspector, who was sent to the island on a temporary basis to do a job at the ramshackle police station before returning back to mainland civilization. The reward for his good work, however, is a permanent post on the island – his own personal hell on earth. However he’ll bring British rigor to this relaxed Caribbean workplace; always in a suit and tie, eschewing sandals for a stout brogue, he’s the very embodiment of the Englishman abroad.
