INSTRUCTIONS Preparation of SLATE CLOCK…..To ensure that the case is free of dirt, grease and waxes, clean the case well with White Spirit. Dry the case with a soft clean cloth whilst the surface is still wet, then leave for 2 – 3 hours before applying Slate Blacking. NB. *0000* Wire Wool can be used with White Spirit for cleaning very badly marked cases. Directions for use…..Shake the bottle before use, then apply Slate Blacking with a clean lint free cloth. Apply evenly over the surface but do not rub in. Small bubbles that may appear in the process will even themselves out. Two coats are usual, but very grey or white areas may need more. Should any of the Slate Backing get into inlay, it should be removed with a damp cloth before it dries. When the slate case is dry, it can be buffed to a high shine with a soft duster. For further protection apply a light coat of Curator Beeswax Polish.
