• Low-growing and space-efficient
• Produces reliable, high yields
• Suitable for small gardens and containers
• No pollination required

Sow seeds indoors at a depth of 2cm (¾") in 7.5cm (3") pots of free-draining seed compost. Keep in a propagator or sealed container at 20–25°C (68–77°F) until germination, usually 5–7 days. Once germinated, grow on in cooler conditions until all risk of frost has passed. Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over 7–10 days before planting in rich, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun, spacing 90cm (36") apart. Use protective netting or fleece to deter pests. Apply a thick mulch around the plants to conserve soil moisture.
