Product Description The Corgi AA27709 North American P-51D Mustang brings a significant piece of Second World War aviation history into your collection with its 1:72 scale diecast construction. This model recreates 'Moonbeam McSWINE', the aircraft flown by William T. 'Bill' Whisner Jr during his remarkable combat missions in 1944-45, including his extraordinary engagement on New Year's Day 1945 when he claimed four enemy aircraft despite his Mustang sustaining damage. The ready-to-display design means you can showcase this piece immediately without assembly, allowing you to appreciate the detailed markings and rotating propeller straight from the box. Whisner's legacy as one of only seven American pilots to achieve ace status in both the Second World War and Korean War makes this model particularly noteworthy for aviation enthusiasts. The included display stand and cradle provide a stable presentation option for your shelf or cabinet, whilst the limited edition certificate adds context to the historical significance of this particular aircraft. Suitable for collectors aged 14 and above, this diecast model offers a tangible connection to the dramatic aerial combat over Belgium and Germany during the final year of the war in Europe. The 1:72 scale allows for detailed features whilst remaining compact enough to fit within most display spaces, making it a practical addition to existing collections or an engaging starting point for those beginning to explore military aviation history. Safety Warning A detailed die-cast scale model for adult collector. Not Suitable for children under 14 years.
