Dimensions - Large approximately 260 x 240 mm. These handmade, Fair Trade and eco friendly leather photo albums are made by a small family business in Rajasthan, India. Our beautiful Fair Trade leather photo albums are the perfect way to display and protect treasured photographs. They are lovely items to own or give as gifts and, because they are genuine leather, they also age really well. Each photo album is handmade and contains 30 pages of acid-free khadda paper, each interleaved with tissue paper, and can hold up to 120 6"x 4" photos. They are also perfect to use as a scrapbook, sketchbook or doodle book. Khadda is recycled cotton that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India. It is handmade and doesn’t contain any chemicals as we use only unbleached cotton. The paper is very easy to write on but does have a slight texture. We do not advise using an ink pen on this paper; ball point or gel pen will work the best. These albums are fastened with our new 3 leather string closure. Each leather album is individual, leather is a natural product and can have slight imperfections, we feel this adds to the individuality and makes each product unique. All the products in this range are made by a small family business in Rajasthan who we have worked with for many years following Fair Trade guidelines. We now know the producers and their families well and consider them true friends. We are proud that together we are able to provide people in rural villages fairly paid work that would have otherwise been difficult to find. The paper is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages. The leather used for the covers is a by-product of the meat industry and is tanned using natural dyes. Due to the handmade nature of these products, the colour may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.
