About this item
- Vigorous & High-Yield Climbing Variety: Supermarconi is a strong, productive climbing bean that produces long, flat, stringless green pods up to 22cm in length. The plants are tall and vigorous, delivering heavy yields throughout summer with exceptional garden performance.
- Delicious Stringless Pods: Enjoy crisp, tender pods that are meaty and fibre-free. Perfect for steaming, stir-frying, or serving cold in summer salads. A traditional favourite for its fresh, mild flavour and generous harvest.
- Suitable for Gardens, Allotments & Greenhouses: Climbing habit makes the most of vertical space — perfect for trellises, fences, or bamboo supports. Plants thrive in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. Excellent for small gardens or allotments where space efficiency and high productivity matter. SEEDS: 30g Approx.
- Growing Guide: Climbing French Bean ‘Supermarconi’ is best sown from April to July, placing seeds 2cm deep in warm soil at around 15°C. Space plants 25–30cm apart with wider row spacing for airflow, and provide sturdy supports at least 2m (7ft) tall, as this vigorous heritage variety can reach 180–200cm in height. Pods begin to mature from June to October, producing long, flat, stringless beans that are best harvested regularly to encourage continuous cropping and maintain pod tenderness.
- Seed Quality: Produced by a historic Italian seed house with over 240 years of excellence. Seeds are packed in protective, recyclable packets to preserve freshness and germination quality – bringing authentic Italian growing to your garden.
