These versatile mulch mats made of Herdwick wool from the English Lake District are robust, sustainable and effective. The wool retains water, ensuring that moisture is delivered to the plant you need to protect. It reduces evaporation, and protects against temperature fluctuations. It also supresses weeds. The wool is durable and will last at least a year, but over time will biodegrade to provide valuable nitrogen rich fertiliser to your plants. These round mats are 40cm in diameter. Simply slot them around the base of the plant. In windy locations they may need pegging out using our robust bamboo pegs, listed separately.
