Product description
These ollas (pronounced Oh-yah) are made of a natural terracotta. They are a simple and effective irrigation system that has been used for 1000's of years. Simply bury the terracotta pot, leaving the top just above the surface. Keep topped up with water, and the water will trickle down to the roots as and when the plant needs it. If the soil is damp enough, the water stays in the olla. When the soil is dry, it causes the water to be pulled out by osmosis, and delivers it efficiently to the roots. Simple and clever! It's a much easier and efficient way of watering your plants than watering the top. Have a look at our other sizes of olla too. We've got 300ml,1L, 2L, 3L, 4L. These are packed in a generous quantity of wool to protect them, which you can also use in the garden as mulch, soil improver, or put out in the spring for birds to line their nests with.
