About this item
- Traditional Italian Radicchio Variety: Rossa di Verona is a classic round-headed red chicory with deep burgundy leaves and crisp white ribs. A prized salad vegetable known for its balanced bitter-sweet flavour.
- Perfect for Autumn & Winter Harvests: This mid-late variety thrives in cooler temperatures and actually improves in flavour after cold weather, making it ideal for late-season growing and winter picking.
- Crisp Texture with Rich Colour: Produces compact, dense heads with juicy, crunchy stalks and vibrant colouring — excellent for fresh salads, grilling, roasting, risottos and Italian dishes. Noted for its excellent resistance to cold and bolting, giving growers reliable results even in challenging late-season conditions.
- Extended Sowing & Long Harvest Window: Sow Chicory seeds outdoors from April to September in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun or partial shade. Thin seedlings to allow space for head development. Keep soil consistently moist for best growth. Harvest from July through to December as firm heads form, with flavour improving after cooler weather. SEEDS: 12g Approx.
- Seed Quality: Produced by a historic Italian seed house with over 240 years of excellence. Seeds are packed in protective, recyclable packets to preserve freshness and germination quality – bringing authentic Italian growing to your garden.
