Product description
Introducing the Cherry 'Crown Morello', renowned as the largest of the cooking cherries. Its exceptionally juicy, dark red fruits are ideal for a variety of culinary uses, from traditional pies and preserves to homemade wine and spirits. This acid cherry variety not only produces a bumper crop from late August onwards but also adds significant ornamental value to your garden, whether in bloom or laden with fruit. It thrives even in north-facing positions, making it a versatile addition to most gardens. This particular variety is self-fertile, meaning it does not require a specific pollination partner to produce fruit. Expect your first crops approximately two years after planting, with the best yields typically achieved around the fourth year. We offer these bare-root trees on a selection of rootstocks including the dwarf Gisella 5 (mature height up to 2m), semi-vigorous Gisella 6 (mature height up to 4m), and semi-vigorous Colt (mature height up to 5m). How to Grow Light: Full sun to partial shade. Adapts well to north-facing positions. Temperature: Hardy, suitable for most UK climates. Watering: Water well after planting and during prolonged dry spells. Avoid waterlogged soil. Feeding: Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring. Mulch annually with compost or well-rotted manure. Humidity: No specific requirements. Included Varieties Cherry 'Crown Morello' Images shown are for guidance only and show the expected results of plants upon maturity.
