Product description
Charon, the aged ferryman from Greek mythology, brings the dead across the river Acheron to the entrance of Hades. Only those who have received the funeral rites and whose crossing has been paid with a coin called "Charonspfennig" (Obolus). These coins get the dead placed under the tongue. Unburied dead to whom Charon denied access must wander around the banks of Acheron as a shadow for a hundred years. Because it still applies the old saying" number the ferryman when you are on the other side. "Dont pay the ferryman" made of artificial stone and painted in detail by the artist.
