The COA exam allows candidates to demonstrate their competence in different areas and levels of OpenStack. The prestige and respect that come with this OpenStack Foundation certification will definitely help you in your career. Your clients, peers, and superiors will recognize you as an expert in OpenStack. This introductory OpenStack book has three main objectives: to provide the candidates with a clear and logical presentation of the basic concepts of OpenStack, to strengthen an understanding of these concepts through a broad range of interesting practical administration tasks examples, and to develop strong question-solving skills through and an effectively organized approach. All these objectives have the ultimate goal of successfully passing the COA exam, providing a comprehensive coverage of Certified OpenStack Administrator (COA) exam requirements. This book maps 10 chapters to the 10 domains of the COA exam, although the order in which they are presented in the book differs from the order presented in \href{https://www.openstack.org/coa/requirements/}{Certified OpenStack Administrator (COA) exam requirements}. It has the intention to be easily accessible and it is styled and written to facilitate instruction and learning. With these points in mind, I have included many pedagogical features, listed below, that are intended to enhance its usefulness to both candidates and instructors. This book uses several key methodologies to help you discover the exam domains on which you need more review, to help you fully understand and remember those details, and to help you prove to yourself that you have retained your knowledge of those domains. I do not try to help you pass the exam only by memorization, but by truly learning and understanding the domains by using the following methods: * Helping you discover which exam domains you have not mastered. * Providing explanations and information to fill in your knowledge gaps. * Supplying exercises that enhance your ability to recall and deduce the answers to test questions. To help you customize your study time using this book, the chapters have several features that help you make the best use of your time: * Examples. Worked examples are presented to better reinforce OpenStack concepts. Each solution has been written to reinforce good question-solving habits. It contains an explanation for each step together with the OpenStack commands and outputs used to solve the question. * Questions. A set of questions is included at the end of each chapter. Answers to these problems are provided at the end of the book. * Marginal notes. Comments and notes appearing in the margin with an icon can be used to locate important statements and concepts in the text. Glossary terms are present in ocre color. * Appendices. Several appendices are provided near the end of the book. They contain the bibliography, index, glossary, acronyms, and solutions to chapter questions. * Hyperlinks. If you click on a text in blue font color, your browser will be opened pointing at an URL. URLs in the text are also represented in blue color using a mono-spaced font and, if you click on them, your browser will be opened pointing at them. Internal references are also hyperlinks in ocre font color and you will be able to click on them to be redirected to the right page. Moreover, the table of contents, list of figures/tables and index are made of hyperlinks. * GUI labels. When a button or GUI option is referred in the text, it is indicated with red color font within a gray frame.
