Le Chats de Dubout When renowned French illustrator and cartoonist Albert Dubout put his feather on paper, the cat lover sketched his friends as we all know them: cats in droves or all alone, cats when they wreak mischief and cats lounging, cats with their cubs and cats in love, cats on the hunt, and cats when they show themselves at their best. Albert Dubout (1905-1976) has made a name for himself as a humorous draftsman, press cartoonist, and illustrator of books. After studying at the School of Fine Arts in Montpellier, he moved to Paris in 1924. His talent is quickly recognized and he finds contact with publishers at home and abroad. In 1936 he illustrates three volumes of Rabelais and the books of Marcel Pagnol. He worked for numerous well-known magazines and magazines and designed film and theatre posters and stage designs. In 1992, a museum was opened in Palavas-les-Flots in his honor.
