About this item
  • FRITILLARIA MIXED BULBS Fritillaria meleagris, commonly known as Snake’s Head Fritillary, is a delicate Springflowering bulb that produces bellshaped blooms in shades of purple, pink, and white, many with a distinctive chequered pattern. Flowering from March to April, these charming perennials are loved by pollinators.
  • HOW TO PLANT FRITILLARIA Plant Fritillaria bulbs from Autumn to early Winter in moist but welldrained soil, preferably in a partially shaded spot. Space bulbs approximately 810cm apart and at a depth of 8cm. Water thoroughly after planting and keep soil consistently moist during the growing season.
  • PLANTING POSITION Perfect for naturalising in lawns, meadows, under deciduous trees, or along woodland edges, Snake’s Head Fritillaries also thrive in flower beds, borders, or containers. Their nodding flowers and grasslike foliage complement spring bulbs such as crocuses and narcissus.
  • EASY TO STORE If you are not ready to plant the bulbs now, then store them in a cool, dry, frost free, well ventilated location. A garage, shed, loft or cupboard are ideal. Open the paper bag to allow air to circulate round but leave the bulbs in their bags until ready to plant.
