Product Description Qualitative potassium iodate starch paper that comes as a 5m reel, with a width of 7mm. This test paper allows for rapid testing and detection of sulfite and sulfur dioxide in food and chemical laboratories. The starch in the paper, the iodine gives a characteristic blue/black colour in the presence of sulfur dioxide. The test strips will change colour from white to blue/black if sulfite or sulfur dioxide is present. The test paper also allows for the determination of non-metal compounds. The test paper can be used for non-destructive testing of materials, and have a detection limit of 5mg/l sulfur dioxide. These test strips have a shelf life of 2 years when stored at the right storage temperature of 4 to 30oC Directions 1. Prepare the test area by ensuring it is clean and free from any contaminants. 2. Remove a test strip from the reel. 3. Dip the strip into the sample solution or expose it to the gas to be tested. 4. Observe the strip for a color change. If sulfur dioxide is present, the strip will change from white to blue/black. 5. Compare the color of the strip to the provided color chart for accurate interpretation. 6. Dispose of the strip after use, following local regulations for chemical waste disposal.
