As a genus, the family of cabbages contains of many varieties. For this seed kit, we created a special collection of cabbage plant seeds and hand picked our most unique varieties. Some of them may surprisingly sound a bit unfamiliar but all of the varieties are heritage cabbage cultivars and are either speciality cabbages from foreign countries or some varieties, which have slipped off the radar of our awareness for a while, ready to make their comeback. The following 6 varieties are the gems of our cabbage rarity collection: Curly kale 'Red Russian' (Brassica oleracea) The ‘Red Russian’ is a robust curly kale variety from Siberia, which has an exquisite flavour. Purple Sprouting (Brassica oleracea) A well producing sprouting cabbage variety, which forms delicate, crunchy broccoli branches that regrow over again. Kohlrabi 'Blue delicacy' (Brassica oleracea) This purple Kohlrabi variety is beautiful to the eye, has a deliciously delicate flavour and a texture that melts in your mouth. Sea kale/ Crambe (Crambe maritima) Sea kale is a ‘genuine’ local wild cabbage, which has a mild flavour, not dissimilar to broccoli. Romanesco cabbage (Brassica oleracea) Romanesco cabbage is a special variation of broccoli. Each bud represents a little wonder of nature: bright, light green in colour and geometrically perfect in its formation. Pak Choi / Bok Choy (Brassica rapa) A traditional Asian leaf-cabbage variety with a superb taste.
